Home is Where You Are Free to Build

As you may or may not know, Sony is developing its own virtual world for PlayStation3. OK, it is another "SL killer" in the race for the metaverse capitol. And once again, the specifica differentia between the two is user generated content. Once again Second Life is the one which will provide you a possibility to be creative. From Extropia DaSilva's Home: No Place Like SL?:

But can you? Can you really? I do not think that is the case at all. Saying "give them prims to build with and they will all be content creators" is a bit like saying "give somebody a canvas, paint and a brush and they will be an artist". Is that true? In a superficial sense I suppose it is, but inevitably one would compare one's own efforts with the likes of Turner, Monet, Picasso, Dali, and guess what? Compared to these exceptional people the "art" most of us are capable of is rubbish. Some people are gifted artists but the majority are not…

Believe it or not, I felt like doing something very deviant. I just don't know how it happened, I am very against any RL influences into my second life, especially when it comes to sex or other intimate activities. But it happened. Hell, it is not a disaster like failing to involve condom in RL sex, but still it is something I consider very dangerous activity. Read more…

In the Action or Just Watching?

Yen commented on Does RL Gender Matters at All? and slapped me with some serious questions:

Had SL sex? Any experience?
Do u feel like it’s really u…are u D 1 in action or just a voyeur of something going on on screen?

Furry fandom is a subculture distinguished by its enjoyment of anthropomorphic animal characters.[1] Examples of anthropomorphism in the furry fandom include the attribution of human intelligence and facial expressions, speech, bipedalism or walking on two legs, and the wearing of clothes. Members of this subculture are sometimes known as furry fans, furries, or simply furs.[2]

Let's say that the better world is possible. I'm not talking utopias or idealistic daydreams. I am talking better world as no lagging, no missing textures, teleports working, no crashing, no freezing.

Price? Well, money. All of it. One of the known solutions of current technicall problems of our world requires that all the money vanish from the metaverse. Are you ready for that? Read more…
