Being Around Without Avatar
In Intuitive 3-D Interface: Finger Mouse, Amazon, Barriers Hiro Pendragon discusses some possible features of future second life and interface issues. One of the things that pushed my thoughts is passive browsing:
Also known as "ghost mode", Passive Browsing would let SL browsers (clients) access content in Second Life without rendering any avatars. "Ghost Mode" is a misnomer, really, because it assumes that "You can see other people, and they can't see you". This is not what I'm suggesting.
Reckless Driving
I was reading some note-card when something hit me, started pushing and rammed against the wall. White and red it was as I caught a glimpse behind the window of the notecard. The first curse was running towards my lips when Spider apologized by IM. He and MissKittin were a bit wild in a 60's red and white convertible. Regular evening drink&driving. Then they hit me again. I had no choice but to join them and jump into the car. We started chasing some big guy through the streets of Suffugium.
The World is Going To Change
Today Lindens are going to close the grid to change the look and feel of the world forever.Yup, it is one more update. As official Linden's blog says there will be couple of fixes, some new minor features and introduction of sculpted prims. There was some talk about sculpted prims last weeks and if you are adventurous enough to go to the beta grid you could see them live.
So, let's see what's expecting us tonight. One does not need to be psychic to know that grid will be down more than announced and that lot of things will not work when we finally get our new clients and log in. That's the way things go. This time, it will be worth it.

The first millionaire of virtual worlds, Anche Chung, announced that she is about to make financial market which will connect three virtual worlds: Second Life, Entropia Universe and IMVU. According to press release
the new financial market will allow Second Life residents to invest their Linden DOLLARS (L$) directly in ventures such as banks, malls or biospheres in Entropia Universe while those who earned their fortunes in Entropia dollars will be able to easily diversify their investments into assets such as Second Life virtual land funds, virtual game development businesses or the IMVU fashion design industry.
