Political Means in the Virtual World

The grid performance is crappy. Lindens first banned ageplay. Then casinos. What is next to be forbidden in our lives? Maybe second life is a game but is a fairly big and complex game. Most of us invest considerable amounts of time and money in it. For some people second life is surely not a game. They do their business' here whether it is inworld biz or extensions of RL. We have some rights over the game. And sometimes, in both our lives, we have to do something about it.

What Makes You - You?

In meatspace you can be identified by your look, your face, your body, your eyes. You can dye your hair and change hairstyle, you can do a different make-up. But no matter how much you work on yourself you still look like yourself. We're not talking plastic surgery here, those things are not everyday activities, not even for Cher. But here, in second life… Read more…

Intimate and Anonymous

You know the story. You come to the second life, make some kind of avatar, make your first steps in the new world. And, with a bit of luck, you sense all the dangers of being present in the on-line world. Mama, not to mention all the internet advisors, told you how dangerous it can be talking to strangers. And those avatars around you, they are strangers par excellence. Not just ordinary strangers on the streets, in the bars. These are even more strange. And maybe, even more dangerous. Read more…

Real Protesting in the Virtual World

Second Life Is Not a TV

I was uneasy when I saw Gwyn's title I'm Bored. No, not you, not after all these years and not after all the things she said and still have to say. Luckily, Gwyneth is just exploring how and why some residents are bored in second life. Though I can count on my fingers the days I haven't log in in last nine months, and though I enjoy second life in more ways than one, I must admit that I found myself bored couple of times. The Joy of Nudism

In today's Herald's article: The Bare Facts: Nudism in Second Life Lisae Baucher tries to raise some questions about nudism in second life.

Maybe it's just that my human has luck to live in the European city with a nude beach in the mere city, and with personal nudist history of almost two decades, but I just don't see much of a problem about nudism, both in first and second life. If you want to enjoy being naked you just take a bus or tp (depending of which life we're talking about), take your clothes off and give yourself to the sun and the water. Easy as that.
