Is Publishing Chatlogs Legal?
One small piece of Nipplegate was Iridium Linden's response on Burning Man blog. After the attempt of censorship and all the things she said, her comment was:
I'd also like to remind you that pasting chat without consent is a violation of the Community Standards.
Well, let's examine that a bit. Read more…
Iridium Linden’s Apology NOW!
Now this is really too much! If you don't know of the censorship of Burning Man second life event you can read it at SLinsider (and the follow-up). In short, Lindens didn't like the fact that statue of woman have nipples so they censored the event. If they are fine with the fact that humans in RL have nipples is still unknown. Problems Of The OpenSim
Last week we talked a bit about OpenSim Project and about some of the good things that are expected to come with it. But not everything is easy in the quest of having the free grid. In distributed system like this one is, question is who's gonna keep our treasure chests safe, and how we are going to carry them in our journeys.

When You Least Expect It
It is not like I am going to use the voice. There are bunch of reasons. But I am ok with voice existing in the world. We can live together once Lindens make the grid working and voice not making additional pressure on the database. But, I want that wall of the privacy, that line between avatar and human to remain untouched. And it is not only about my voice. It is voice of other residents too. Some of them at least. But, sometimes, you cannot escape it. Sometimes it comes when you least expect it. Read more…
