At this moment, there is an in-world support of the protests in Myanmar/Burma. We are keeping the avatar chain (it is hard to call it a human chain) and occupying at least two sims. One is completely full, I think there is some space on the other. We'll spread to the next one if needed.

Chinese MMORPG King of the World implemented an interesting way of gender verification (via SLinsider and Pacific Epoch:

Aurora stipulates that only female gamers can play female characters in the game, and it requires gamers who chose female characters to prove their biological sex with a webcam.

We all know that gambling is banned from second life because U.S. government doesn't allow its residents to gamble on-line. And because they cannot nobody can. We also know that China doesn't want their residents to read things about Dalai Lama, Falun Gong and many more stuff on the internet. So they use a pretty large amount of processing power to block all the content they don't like. But, more or less, all this is employment of software against own residents. It can be much much worse. If the whole second life is crazy how to expect that its market behave differently? For example, can you tell what is expected to pay for a house or a set of textures? No, you can not. Prices ranges from a dozen lindens to couple of thousands. Yes, prices are different in the first life too, but those are based on quality and other reasons. In second life, logic is not rezzed yet.
