Do you remember last Burning Man celebration with accompanying "nipplegate"? Yes, it was back then, when artist was "asked" to remove nipples from a marble statue of woman because that level of detail violates the PG nature of the sim event was held on. But we know there is no end to surprises when nipples are around Linden family.

After all that mess about who is welcome to exhibit and visit at fifth birthday celebration of the Second Life™ and all the turnovers that came after I was sure I will keep myself out of those sims. But post about statue of Michelangelo's David in SL Herald was just too promising.
It's not that David is a master-piece that cannot be missed, in marble or in pixels. What is missing on sculptie version of David is, you might guess, his nipples!

So, I really want to know, for mere curiosity, what's so wrong with nipples? I cannot accept the answer of PG rules because this David is not missing some other parts that are more "adult content" than nipples. So? What's so scary about those circles on skin every mammal on the planet has?
edit
Checking the Timmi Allen's parcel where he creates and exhibit his work made even more confusion. David rezzed there also miss his nipples. So it might not be Linden's censorship. I tried to get in touch and ask about it. Leni Galli, Timmi's friend was so kind to answer:
There are no restrictions of Linden about the nipples. It is rather a coincidence. Even more detail in a statue means more prims. We have the priorities in this statue lying elsewhere.
Though "priorities lying elsewhere" in this case made me laugh very loud, it posed many new questions.
It is not about prims. Nipples on this statue would be made on texture, just like belly-button is. I'll just keep thinking that there is some kind of nasty disease origining from LL that makes people nipple-blind.
