I still don’t know what to say. These questions are not new. We live with this politics for a long while. And it doesn’t sound like anything will change in the near future.
To answer Headburro’s question, I think it is strength to make a U-turn, but is this one really made because they’ve listened to residents? We’ll see how long it will be until the next announcement that will provoke a new wave of resident’s rage.

Oh no not the URI! I’m happy with URL’s until they work out what the URI is supposed to mean! ;)

The Lindens do not think of the whole picture when they make announcements and policy decisions, it has happened time after time.

If they didn’t want Goreans and kids there the sensible thing to do would have been to reject their bids, but give people the impression they had been considered.

Now, if there are no Gorean and kid builds there, people will say it was deliberate. Why do they create these situations?

God, I don’t know what to think of them? Are they useless for not foreseeing the outrage in the first place or useless for the way they have back-tracked? Are they weak for doing a u-turn or strong for listening as responding to their customers?

They *really* need a better business head on their shoulders though. I don’t want a company to act like a bunch of surf dudes sat around a fire making things up on the fly. Act like professionals – give us some confidence you are acting as one organisation, not several non-communicating, always-squabling factions fighting for power and the praise of the love machine (the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard).

I hope they will be careful before thinking of the policies next time. Problem is not that somebody has spoken unofficially, problem is that such policy existed.

I think some Lindens will be careful before talking unofficially next time.
I’m sure they learned, and the next time they just will act politely without telling their “real” intentions.

If Everett remained silent on that post in Massively possibly LL would be just rejecting politely all child porposals to the celebration.

It never was hard in the first place…. most of the problem was that too many people are retarded enough to think child-porn and BDSM are still ok to someone’s birthday party. Sure, it may seem like Linden was a bit dumb not to mention it should be “PG” but in the reality, it’s surprising how much more retarded people can actually get without all the common manner in general public.

In other words… people are getting too far ahead of themselves. ….wayyy too far.
