OK, I have to explain that title fast: It is a big group writing project. It covers 19 social media networks (you know, all the web 2.0 stuff) and second life. The main idea is to share knowledge and experiences about various social media and networks. And it is not about exchanging links, it's about exchanging information and meeting people. Yes, you are invited.

Who, where and what about?

What do we actually do and how?

  1. Write a post on your blog (or make some visual art or use whatever is your mean of expression) and share with us how do you integrate this social media site (that is: second life) into your blogging, work and life; tell us about your good or bad experience; what do you like or don’t like about it, how did you benefit from becoming a frequent user of this site, what secrets have you learned about it, what tips or warnings would you like to inform others about?
  2. Contact me with your name, email and a permalink to your post. If you don’t have your own blog, you can always write a guest post here, or simply send me your thoughts by contacting me here or inworld.
  3. Once I collect the links from all participants and publish them, you can write another post and link to either all or only your favourite articles by other bloggers.
  4. You are allowed to contribute only one article per project/site. You are more than welcome to visit other participating blogs that host projects dedicated to the different social media sites and take part in those projects by submitting your articles about other social networking sites.

So, the trick is to present second life and its social and networking aspect not to other residents but to the people from the outer world. That might be tricky as we need broader picture and connection between flatworld and the metaverse. While other subprojects will deal with social media, we have the whole world (that lives with all those networking sites and plus have its own). 

My attempt of introduction to Second Life will come in the week or so and you are free to start thinking about your. My other posts, those about other networks will be posted on cybernautika where I'll also probably do a bit more of covering this mega project.

Dates:

  1. Submissions start: Monday, January 21st
  2. Submissions end: Friday, February 22nd
  3. I will publish all entries on my blog on February 25th
  4. Collaborative entries (please read below) will be published on InspirationBit, on February 29th
