Sera, that is a great song. And a great comic as well.

Dale, yes…. those things are developed. Actually, I think one of the systems connects to Xcite. And yes, clinics are there to run all the animations of the happy event and the nurse will come to see the baby.

I am not sure if script’s messages can be set to a private channel, but that would be preferable. Actually, it is quite unrealistic to hear baby speaking from the stomach to anybody than the mother. Not to mention that we are all really sick of green spam.

I just wrote about a birthing center! http://slfix.com/?p=446 I am sure those HUDs could be set to a private channel and shared with friends rather than broadcasting to any and all. I find the reactions to this form of RP fascinating … from “Ewww!” to “Where do we sign up?” I found it intriguing that members of the medical profession have formed groups and seem to use SL for training and education. Considering the other extreme in sexual behavior in SL, it restores my faith that there are those looking at sexual activity from this healthier and more responsible angle.

I wouldn’t want to do this in SL, but I respect other people who want to, for their own exploration of SL and what it can do to them. There are many ways in which one could enhance their SL and this is one of them.

I understand that there are programs (presumably the high-end ones) where you don’t simply buy the prim baby at the store, but when The Time Comes you go to a birthing center where you sit on a delivery table and a giving-birth animation runs, and the baby…

Interesting…
As someone who has not had conception problems, but who is adopting in real lives, I have always had mixed feelings about the whole “pregnancy HUD” thing. I agree with what you have said here, but the problem I have with most systems is how they spam the rest of the world with ridiculous chatter in much the same way that many of the other scripted body parts do. I don’t want to know how some random person’s nipples are feeling when another AV clicks on them. In the same vein, some of the ways that they pregnancy huds are scripted are offensive, and if there could be a way to make them so only people who *wanted* to know how tired/hungry/happy you are…
well, that would be preferable.

i think it can be a wonderful experience for people.. think about those who can’t concieve in real life getting the chance to experience it!

it also adds another neat way to connect couples who are struggling with the long distance thing..

personally i didn’t go though the pregnancy part, i just adopted an 18 year old that we had hanging around us all the time lol
