Let’s Stop Griefing, Please
In the comments on post about what one can do about griefing one of the soggestions passed almost unnoticed. I wasn't sure if something so obvious and simple is making any sense, wasn't proposed earlier and found ineffective or whatever so I let some time pass. But, the more I think, the more I'm sure I need to fill one JIRA ticket. It won't solve all the problems, but could help us prevent a large percent of them.

Attack Of The Praying Mantis
I am not in the mood to tell you another "boy meets a girl in second life" story. You know how it goes. Skip the dancing and the intellectual foreplay, sooner or later, they will look for a bit of fun in the poseballs. One teleport and a couple of minutes later two of them are running through animations, exchanging sweet words and naughty thoughts…

You know that most of the men have that latent fear, something that has a name related to praying mantis, the naughty insect whose female cut off male's head after mating. And she eat him then. For some unknown link between humans and mantises there is that fear about her going very evil in the moment when he is weak and not ready to fight and defend himself. It happens in the world of insects. It frightens humans. Well, it can happen in metaverse, too. Actually, it can be much worse than you think. Read more…
How To Find The Source Of Spamming
One of the annoying stuff in every griefer's inventory are objects that emit particles around. Be that images of Super Mario, Ninja Turtles, genitalia or zombies, it is not interesting nor fun. It is called spam. But you can have hard time to find the object and to delete it. Here's a little how to. There are two ways to do that. Sometimes one is better than the other. Read more…
Griefing Against Serious Life
Wired's Mutilated Furries, Flying Phalluses: Put the Blame on Griefers, Sociopaths of the Virtual World tries to shed some more light on the griefers and griefing. Which is nice and fair. Poor kids have their right to say what they have to say and I believe I am not the only one that is interested in the origins and causes of deviant and stupid behaviour like that. Some say that knowing one's motives can lead to understanding and approval. So I gave them a try. Read more…
How To Kill A Griefer
It is obvious that we have a problem. It is not that we have people running around naked, throwing self-replicating objects and being morons in any way they can think of. It's that we have no way to get rid of them. We might complain, fill abuse reports, fight with them, wait for Lindens to handle the problem… but none of it will solve the problem. The worst of all, we are rarely willing to admit that we are helpless and without a clue what to do.

Reckless Driving
I was reading some note-card when something hit me, started pushing and rammed against the wall. White and red it was as I caught a glimpse behind the window of the notecard. The first curse was running towards my lips when Spider apologized by IM. He and MissKittin were a bit wild in a 60's red and white convertible. Regular evening drink&driving. Then they hit me again. I had no choice but to join them and jump into the car. We started chasing some big guy through the streets of Suffugium.

Rape Again
There is a lot of noise lately about rape and other sex related violence in virtual worlds provoked by Regina Lynn’s article Virtual Rape Is Traumatic, But Is It a Crime? This post is a comment on the subject originally written at Second Tense.
Rape inside the virtual worlds came to my attention a month or so ago by two unrelated occasions. First was a post on some feminist’s site which attacked the possibility of role-playing the rape scene in second life. Other one was what can be called an attempt of rape of myself. These two combined led to a little investigation of mine which resulted in Many Ways To Rape. Read more…
